At the end of 2012, I had my breasts enlarged. We’ve talked about it for years, we evaluated the risk, we did research and eventually decided to do it. We went for a consultation and decided on the size and where to do the incision. In our research we thought the best place was under the breast. It took some convincing because the doctor wanted to cut the areola and I didn’t want the cut to be visible. We were at clinic at 7am. I went into the theatre at 8am and stayed there for about 2 to 2.5 hours. I only received an epidural and were awake the whole time. We were back at home at about 1pm in the afternoon. It is incredible how fast they did it. It was very sore, but not that sore that I lived on painkillers. There were days I didn’t drink any painkillers and soon just stopped. The pain was more than bearable. My breast were tightly bandaged and strapped to keep them in place. I had to keep this on for about 5 days and after that I could only take the bandage off just to take a bath. A few week later we went back to the clinic to have the stitches removed. I was also allowed to take the support strap off for longer every day. About a month after the surgery we had our first photoshoot. The breast were still swollen with a few blue marks, but we just couldn’t wait any longer.
