⏰Throwback Thursday🕰️ 📆2009 13 years ago I was 36 years old In 2009 we moved back to Benoni. But we were in our travelling mode and travelled as much as we can. Even here we found some amazingly beautiful places. Places like Magoebaskloof, God’s Window and many more. We travelled a lot this year. We often did 1500km in one weekend! But it was worth it. We saw some amazing places, did some amazing things and enjoyed every minute. The travel bug has bitten us and there was no going back! The one thing I notices going through the photos of this year...I wore a lot of black. I think I found one day that I did not wear something black. Black was my “go-to” color in those days, (and I thought it made me look slimmer😜). Or maybe it was my "Goth" period🤣🤣! Nonnie.bio.link Some comments on the photos: * 01/02. The waterfall in the Pretoria botanical garden. Even though we travelled a lot, we did find some time to just visit some botanical gardens close to us. * 03. This was taken in the area of the “Cradle of Humankind”. They often have balloon rides in the early morning here. We were lucky in that one took off behind me. * 04. Man, did I try weird poses in those day. It was a case of: “Let try and see if it works😂!I must actually start doing weird poses again. * 06. A waterfall we discovered driving back from Magoebaskloof. We’ve been here a few time, but in the winter there is no water falling down. Luckily this was in the rainy season. * 09. My mother told us about the beauty of Magoebaskloof. So the first chance we got we went there. And man, were we surprised. The beauty of Magoebaskloof is legendary. There is some huge fallen trees there to post on. It is still one of my favourite places to visit. * 10. The “All seeing Eye” of the tree! Love the idea of the tree just patiently standing there, looking at all the people walking by. * 13/14. We do have rules in our hobby. We will leave a place like we found it. We will never enter private property, (only once😉😂). But we love ruins, so when we discovered this one, we really wanted to take photos there. As luck would have it, there was a phone number on the gate. Well, we phoned and got permission from the farmer! I would love to get back. * 16. Although I started to do topless shoot, I was still very scared of being caught. So I mostly did it in places where I knew I won’t get caught...like deep in the forest. * 17. An abandoned church we found. Probably the biggest ruin we ever used. But it is gone now. All I have of the church is a piece of mortar we found there years later. * 19/20. The irony of it is that I did go back to Cape Town that year. We decided to rent the house out there and I went down to supervise the renovations we planned. I was there all alone for a month, I slept on a mattress in the living room and used our Nissan as a truck to bring building supplies to the house! This was on our way to Cape Town at sunset near Sutherland. * 21. The inside of the church. * 22. When you travel a lot, you do see so much amazing things. This was stormy clouds on our way back home from Fouriesburg. We stopped next to the road for an impromptu photoshoot. Well, that is it for this Throwback Thursday. Although we were sad to leave the beauty of Cape Town, we did discovered that there are so many more beautiful places out there. You must just be prepared to explore. Have a great day everyone. Tomorrow I will post some of the photos we took yesterday. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 (because I only wore black in 2009 😉😂🤣)
