All day until night we hitchhiked across Malaysia from the Chinese tourist island of Penang to the Muslim border villages. Where local Muslim hitchhikers vehemently swore at visiting Chinese. We also stopped trucks that were carrying 40 tons of trees, like redwoods, and policemens who refused to drop us on the highway and brought us to the city so that we would use the bus. After all, it is difficult for the police to explain that you are a tourist without money even for a bus ticket. And in the evening we caught a wonderful driver who took us to the port town, although he did not have to go hard. And in addition bought us local food. It was already almost midnight and we set up the tent again on the beach, so that tomorrow at dawn we could sail to the cherished Perhentian Islands.
