I realized I never talked about incision/insertion options when it comes to breast augmentation! This is a good diagram of the different types. I’ve only ever seen TUBA done on tv, and I think it’s fairly less common than all of the others. In fact, none of my doctors even considered it as an option. I think it’s uncomfortable and foreign to most doctors. I was fine with choosing from the other options. I will be doing inframammary! I don’t tend to scar badly so this was a good option for me. Even if there is a noticeable scar, I have a good breast fold so it will be concealed although I’ve seen this incision done on MANY people and have never disliked the results. I plan on using scar ointment to reduce the appearance of the scar as well. The armpit option will fully conceal the scar but this option was the least favorite of my doctor. It’s more painful and more difficult. I’ve seen a lot done through nipple as well and I’ve never hated the results of it although I do find myself seeing those scars more easily than the breast fold scarring.
