

When explaining why I felt a certain way to someone I used to speak in terms of diagnoses, like "I'm struggling to get dishes done because I'm ADHD". This didn't actually help at all, ADHD means something different to everyone and everyone's experience with it is different. Instead, I now describe the specific experience I'm having in the moment and share the tools that have worked best for specific experiences in the past. My partner CAN'T cure ADHD, she CAN send a text reminding me to unlock the door for her. We all need help with certain things, it's normal.
