I'm doing a half marathon & It's for an amazing cause!!ππ»ββοΈπ¨
- Please donβt tip in this post! Find out how to tip on the Instagram -
While I was in South Africa doing my yoga teacher training, I discovered an incredible Micro charity that looks after 15 families.
One incredible family is getting evicted from their accommodation and desperately needs help π
I couldn't imagine living in their conditions, especially with a disabled son in a wheelchair who also needs support.
So as well as mentioning it here, I'm also pushing myself to do a half marathon & raise money to help them as much as I can!
As beautiful and culturally diverse as South Africa is, it has been listed as the most unequal country in the world at least 3 times in the past 5 years.
55.5% of the total population lives below the upper-bound poverty line of R1,335 a month (approx $71 dollars) and a further 25% of the population (13.8 million people) lives below the food poverty line of R624 a month (approx $33).
Cape Town, in particular, has a growing homeless problem with 14 000 homeless people and only 3500 shelter beds.
Lolas Light, the charity I am hoping to assist, has adopted 15 families who find themselves amongst the 75% of South Africans struggling to survive, their aim is to protect them from homelessness as well as help them find employment to sustain themselves in a country with the highest unemployment rate in the world since 2021.
I'll link the instagram here ππ» https://www.instagram.com/lollaslight ππ» & you'll be able to find out how to donate! Just make sure you check out the exchange rate if you decide to tip (since it's in South African currency).
$20 (over R300) will help change the lives of a family facing homelessness and help secure a bright future for their beautiful son.
Anything you're able to donate on Instagram will be greatly appreciated xx
