I have visited HIM! THE train 🚂 ! Every Harry Potter fan knows what I'm talking about - the Hogwarts Express 🚂 in the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books, which takes the wizarding students 🪄 around Harry Potter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry every autumn.
In Joane K. Rowling's books, the Hogwarts Express represents the transition between the normal Muggle world and the mysterious wizarding world.
The Jacobite, which can be seen as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films, has been travelling the route between Fort William and Mallaig in Scotland since 1985, when it was still known as "The West Highlander". The route is truly breathtaking, so the journey is definitely worthwhile even for the Harry Potter fans among you. The starting station is Fort William, very close to Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the whole of Great Britain.
Just seeing the impressive train for the first time sends a little shiver down your spine. When I stood in front of the large, black locomotive, I thought for a brief moment that I was really standing on track 9 3/4: The locomotive really does look just like the one in the films. The red carriages lined up behind it also make the Harry Potter experience even more real, as does the thick white steam and the loud hissing in between. You can't see your hand in front of your eyes when things get going. It was soooooo amazing and impressive 🩷 Kisses 😘
