Despite these challenges, opening day felt like a personal triumph. Customers, new and familiar, came through the door, their curiosity piqued by the inviting aroma. Regulars formed, stories were shared over mugs, and my little café buzzed with life. It was everything I had dreamed of, at least for a while.
Yet, the honeymoon period began to fade as months went by. The foot traffic slowed, bills loomed larger, and despite my best efforts, the numbers didn't add up. Marketing strategies were revamped and events hosted, but the stream of customers never quite reached the level that would make the shop sustainable.
