

Homemade Sumac Elderberry Syrup 🤤🫐
✨ 1 handful dried elderberries
✨ 1 head of sumac berries
✨ 1 cup of sugar for every cup of berries
✨ 5 cups of water
✨ juice from 1/2 lemon
1. Bring a head of sumac berries and a handful of elderberries to a boil in 5 cups of water.
2. Measure the strained concoction & out into a saucepan. Add 1 cup of sugar for every cup of sumac/elderberry liquid. Add another cup of sugar for the pot.
3. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lemon into the mixture and stir. Bring to a boil & then reduce to a simmer for about a minute.
When canned and sealed properly this immune boosting syrup can be enjoyed for several years!! I love this recipe over pancakes & ice cream the most! 🤤
