As for why I'm bringing it up now? Like I was just talking about on @theaudaxity and on my tiktok, one of my favourite indie brands is being threatened. Etsy is changing their regulations at the end of this month, and it means that creative people who found success on that website, are soon being kicked off. Adult insertable toys will be completely banned. My friend SquidlyCo gets most of his business from Etsy! It used to be a place to find unique items and support small creators, but now Etsy has been completely overrun with dropshippers while it takes complete advantage of the real people who try to sell on there. The people who could finally live a comfortable life because of there.

People used Etsy because it felt like a place they could trust, and it simply cannot be trusted anymore. But the name carries weight, and it's hard for smaller creators to find success on their own websites.
