As for why it’s often cleaned off, there’s probably a few reasons (in no particular order): Women were often taught as girls that their vaginal secretions were dirty and to be ashamed of instead of natural and normal, and that shame carries over into how they clean themselves including douching to remove all secretions. Some vaginal conditions such as a yeast imbalance can cause excess secretions but some cream is normal. Unfortunately many people are only taught it’s all bad, not that some base level is required as just normal vaginal daily lubrication, like spit keeping your mouth moist. Also, if a woman is doing multiple scenes with penetration, she may simply be cleaning between scenes which has the same effect if not the same cause. And for me personally, if I am secreting all day and then filming, sometimes the cream gets dried out and clumpy and feels icky so I try to avoid that. Does that help?
