I had a TWO MIRACLE day today!! I really should write a book about my conversations that I have in my Lyft rides… I have the best convos! It seems I attract high-quality souls from Lyft. I've only had one Lyft driver in the last year and a half since I gave up my car who was a bit agro. Anyway my second amazing miracle was making nice with my next-door neighbor who has been a source of incredible aggravation for years!!!! Long story short, we share a wall - her bedroom wall and my kitchen wall is a common wall and she's complained over the years - in really aggressive ways… like calling the police!… that my Alexa in my kitchen keeps her awake. Well girl I've been rap*ed in my apartment and the police recommend having something next to windows that makes it evident that someone is home. She lived here then and was awakened by the police banging on her door at 6:15am for a witness statement. And she wasn't kind to me afterwards, or since the ra*pe. I'm never getting rid of the Alexa by the window in question and it's at a very low volume and she can get earplugs or whatever. Today we ran into each other in the hallway and were having a very nice little chat and I brought up the issue of noise since the local police reached out to me about a month ago telling me she was complaining again. ARGGGH!!! Usually I wouldn't bring it up because I have every right to have music or talk radio on at a low volume. But my heart was open, and long story short, we resolved the issue once and for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's not hearing my Alexa, she's hearing the clicking of this waving kitty - - which makes the very faint sound of ticking. I jokingly told her she should be in the who's who for having the most sensitive hearing of anyone in the world! She actually started crying happy tears and asked me if she could give me a hug when I removed the kitty and said I would put it in another room, and we were both so relieved that this was the issue (this time) and that it worked out this way. It was really heartwarming. Then we sat around for a while shooting the shit about all the nonsense our horrible new landlord is trying to get away with. I know that we will both rest easier because of what happened today. #goodvibes xo
