I was surprised to learn that there are actually no managers in Amsterdam. Every house with windows has just a guy—I would call him a janitor. He hands the keys to the girls, and that’s it. His only job is to be available if a girl presses the panic button, so he can help her. But that’s all. Since the Wallen is more like a simulation of street sex work, there really isn’t a need for managers like in the clubs.
