This is something I typed once and am copy and pasting it to send to several people:
It starts on a Monday. I’m leaving my friend’s parents’ house. I start to back out of the driveway, which is on a hill, and I have NO BRAKES! I pulled the emergency brake- nothing, put it in park- nothing. So, quickly thinking, I cut the wheel at the end of the driveway and backed into some brush to stop me. Obv, I was terrified. I drove back into the driveway and looked for the problem. There was no brake fluid. One wheel had brake fluid leaked out onto it so, I took the wheel off and saw the caliper was leaking. There was one AutoZone that had the part. I had to get someone to take me to get it and then back to my car. I changed the caliper, bled the brakes, and things seemed fine. I headed back toward the coast, a three hour drive. But, about halfway, my brakes stopped working again and I pulled into a Stuckey’s gas station. The caliper I had put on had disintegrated. Just a cheap piece of crap, I guess. The closest place that had that part was about two hours away. So I had to get someone to get me, take me to the part, then take me back to my car. Well, turns out, the replacement part didn’t come with all of the pieces it needed. And there were no other places with it anywhere near me at all. So I had to order one. By this point, it’s like, Thursday. So, I order the part and rent a car.
I get back to the coast Thursday night. My best-girl-friend-roommate has lost her job and is feeling pretty fed up with things there. I was too. I had tried to talk into going to Gulf Shores before but, never could. But, this time was different. I had a badass rental car, she didn’t have to be at work, AND it was HangOut Fest. I also had a very specific and personal reason to get into HOF. So, we went, we sneaked in, we slept in the car, we did substances… party hardy.
As soon as I get back from HOF, I have to rush to return the rental car. First, I had to vacuum the extremely large amount of sand out of it. But, I did and then my mom and I headed to Stuckey’s to fix my pink car, now that the part had arrived. We got there and I’m going to hook the brake line to the caliper and it just breaks. Closest part is two hours away. But, what choice do I have? We get the new brake line, I knew something was wrong as soon as I took it out of the package. The metal was way too flimsy so, I tried as delicately as I could to put it on and it broke. Omg. At this point it’s now the next Tuesday. We found the replacement part (two hours away) but, near where my mom works anyway. So, I sat in my dead car at Stuckey’s for ten hours waiting on my mom to get back. She does. I change the part. I check my oil, water, tire pressure. Things look good, I head to the coast and about ten miles down the road, the car OVERHEATS! This is a brand new problem. I’ve never had her do this shit. So, I had to get my mom to come help. She takes me to get water and oil and gives me a jump bc the battery had died at Stuckey’s and hadnt been moving long enough for the alternator to charge it. Of course, at this point, I’m sleep deprived and starving and terrified to drive. I drove as far as I could before I just pulled over on the side of the highway and took a nap
I woke up to a cop telling me to move. So, I did. But, my car kept overheating. So, I’d drive for a bit, stop, cool her down, drive, stop, etc. It look like eight hours to drive what should have taken less that two hours. But, I made it. Then I fell asleep on someone’s couch for like two whole days or something. He just woke me up bc he needed his living room back. I’m just trying to stay awake now.
I’m pretty sure it’s the thermostat on my car but, you have to take the whole fucking car apart just to get it out… don’t believe me? Google “change thermostat in new beetle.” So, bear with me, y’all. I’m doing my best.

So, last week, I got sick again… I think I’ve developed a severe mold allergy. 🦠
But, right as I was recovering from that, my head gasket blew on my Honda! I was a three hour drive from my house and my other car and also I was camping out of my Honda… so, I lost my ride and place to stay in one swoop! I’ve had to couch hop and get rides from people for the last several days… nobody cool enough to record in front of!! Also, my anxiety from this was the highest my anxiety gets! I’m talking serious chest pains and way too overwhelmed to check my messages.
But, I got a three hour ride to my house where my other car is so, I’m back on track… or getting there.
I’ve got an adorable little pink🎀 car that I need to charge the battery and maybe tweak the brakes. And, soon, I’m gonna attempt to change the head gasket on my Honda! 🚗🚙
