Today has been a fucking mess, but within it I’ve seen the best example of unconditional love in my life. That is my dad. Of course he is trying to take me to the hospital.. Literally no way I’m going LOL like the amount of money it costs just to be told what I ALREADY KNOW... which is that I’m having a GI flare up and am in pain from my stupid fall probably have some irritated/bruised ribs, the spot where my two breast reduction incisions m eet is still ble eding and there is a small tear further up. I fell on something sharp and I hit the hard floor with a scratchy rug on it so I’m scraped up on my face and arm. My right side is OBVIOUSLY going to hurt from that shit so I’m gonna be sore for a while but overall, fine. THIS IS HOW MY DAD IS. Did I mention that he is WORKING? It’s just him and one other person at the franchise that HE OWNS. He has no choice. It’s who he is. His manager of tw enty years just up and walked out on him. I KNEW THIS MAN MY ENTIRE LIFE: since I was f ive years old! My dad was, at multiple times, paying him more than HE WAS MAKING HIMSELF. THIS IS HOW MY DAD IS. When I ask him if I can give him money (multiple times a day) he says no. He is frustrating he told me the best thing that I can do for him is to take care of myself, be independent and to thrive. HE HAS NURTURED ME WITH THAT UNCONDITIONAL LOVE SINCE I WAS BORN...what is sad is that my dad didn’t even start hugging me or saying he loves me until 4 or f ive years ago. It seems like a long time ago but those things still break my heart about my dad... he was a victim of abuse by my mom too. Being in an abusive marriage with the kind of untreated anxiety he had must have felt like an emotional, physical and mental hell. My point here is that more people (starting with myself) need to adopt some of my dad’s best qualities: patience, unconditional love, forgiveness, selflessness...) I could go on forever. My dad is the best example of loving others that I’ve ever seen in this world. He is selfless and absolutely lives his life for his family. Even for the person that shattered his heart and his life into a billion pieces... THAT is a real man and the kind of human I could only hope to be half as incredible as.
