2023-12-24 11:00:12 +0000 UTC View PostThis was going to be a photo that found it’s way to the cutting room floor but I’m kinda feeling this angle Since I’m not wearing anything vintage, nor am I holding some kind of power tool, or a telescope, here’s a history fact for today: today in history is the day Thomas Edison revealed his latest invention…strung Christmas lights 🎄

2023-12-08 17:17:23 +0000 UTC View Postper my last post: OK I did forget that right beside that pool there’s a stone waterfall shower. Is it possible to make faces other than these when in one of them? It instantly makes me feel extra (see photo evidence).I apologize in advance for my expressions.

This is part of a private French Quarter club that includes a historic multi-level home as well as an outdoor courtyard pool.
The ground this was built on, though, is historic (like most of the French Quarter). This particular city block is the site of the first (oldest) graveyard of New Orleans. When the owners contracted a pool to be built, the initial excavation resulted in finding a LOT of skeletons. No joke!
Photos from enjoying an afternoon at the pool and showering off before heading home.

Hard to believe it’s nearing the end of 2023, but here we are. Pretty wild that 2020 was nearly FOUR YEARS AGO 🤯 To add a little fun and spice to the upcoming year I’ve made a Pretty Sadie Reed 2024 calendar! It features some of my favorite shots from this past year as well as a few new ones: one for each month of 2024. $10 for the digital download or $35 for me to print it, feature a personal inscription to you, and ship it to your doorstep (discreetly). All print orders also receive a free digital download. Last day for print order is 12/15. Go check your inboxes to get yours! You can ponder your New Years' resolutions while gazing upon a screen size version of me. All my long term subscribers (>12 months) will receive a free digital download in their inboxes later today 💋

2023-11-26 11:00:10 +0000 UTC View PostA little part two from laying floors. I don’t typically take photos from this angle but crazier things have happened 💋
2023-11-24 11:00:08 +0000 UTC View Postkneepads really come in handy for all kinds of things but I guess it’s like the equivalent of wearing socks if you catch my drift 😬
2023-11-21 11:00:04 +0000 UTC View PostDefinitely not going to mention that the rumble of some power tools is oddly the same kind of rumbling pattern as certain vibrators.
2023-11-19 11:00:10 +0000 UTC View PostWe’ll get back to vintage clothing soon enough (and more telescope posts!) but it’s been interesting (dare I say fun?) learning how to repair and renovate and rebuild parts of this house. Enjoy this totally gratuitous, total nonsense of a post of me taking a break from laying floors. (Here I’m just laying laminate to get the basement level of the house done temporarily as we plan to gut and restore the rest of it. The house is from the 1830s/40s and I have a stack of old barn wood and hardwood floors from this place that we’ll be using.)

2023-11-14 11:00:05 +0000 UTC View PostA little gratuitous look-at-me-posing-with-power-tools-nonsense. Happy Sunday :) (The irony is that I actually learned how to use power tools, including this sander, to refinish this door. It’s original to the house, from the 1830s/40s. Took me a few weeks to strip all the lead paint off, leave a slight patina, encapsulate it and call it a day (or like weeks…this was a long project). One door down, like 16 more to go.)

2023-10-27 10:00:16 +0000 UTC View PostBack after a long hiatus! What turned into a summer of traveling resulted in setting up a bicoastal life! I didn’t fit in as much stargazing as I expected but I have been capturing life on an 1840s farm and learning my way around a homestead. I’ve learned to chop wood, fell trees, lay tile, refinish doors and climb trees (naked). I’ve missed you all - everyone has a little surprise waiting for them in their inbox. Thanks again for being here ♥️💋
