Long hair has a long history (I mean, literally since the dawn of time most cultures have had rituals or norms around it) so the history of women's hair is complicated and nuanced. The simplified version is that by the time Queen Victoria reigned, it was considered elite and the peak of femininity to have long hair (even if it was taboo to ever wear it down outside of the bedroom) because of the costly upkeep to have long hair. Things changed in the 1920s when women's liberation movements began, and hair was cut short in protest of traditional norms.

Short hair trends continued for generations and, like anything else, became the expected norm into the 1970s when the counter-culture movements began, and long hair on both men and women became suddenly seen as anti-culture, or hippie hair.

Summertiiiiime and the livin’s easy 🎶

(The original song was written in 1933 for the opera Porgy & Bess by George Gershwin who is considered one of the greatest composers of his era and wrote many songs that have become jazz standards. The song is rooted in the folk songs of Southern African Americans and has a haunting melody. Louis Armstrong performed the song with Ella Fitzgerald for their 1959 album by the same name.)

Fun fact: I'm asked all of the time how tall I am since I'm like 75% legs (hah)! I'm only 5'3 which is the current worldwide average for a woman's height. 💜

Countries have their own averages, and the last time a woman's average height in the US was 5'3 was way back in 1960!

The banner behind me is from the 50th reunion of the Princeton Class of 1926. The banners were made for the reunion parade held each year.

Princeton is one of eight Ivy League colleges, a phrase indicating academic excellence, competitive admission rates and social elitism that originates from the original colonial colleges (pre-American revolution) of the eastern seaboard that participated in “ivy planting” ceremonies in the 1800s.

At the time, women weren’t admitted to the Ivies (the exception being Cornell which has admitted women since its inception in the 1860s) but there were, of course, colleges for women nearby and so visits and dances were held for men and women to mingle and you can imagine they got a little wild. The movie Animal House is a parody of that kind of thing.

Wearing a vintage-inspired lingerie set and played into the idea of being your co-ed for the weekend - the video is in your DMs! 🧡💋

This was originally going to be a quick lesson on serpent symbolism but apparently this is a huge topic with a ton to cover here.

For now I'll leave you with this neat tidbit and you can just enjoy the view: snakes, although in the Western religious world are often thought of as the representation of evil, and used as term to imply one is deceitful but for a significant number of other cultures and religions it represents the connection to the earth, including fertility! 🐍🐍🐍

This couch I’m lounging on is a deep red velvet Victorian couch and a quintessential representation a couch from during that era.

Victorian furniture is interesting. Unlike most furniture which can be defined by specific legs, feet or woodworking, it’s instead defined simply by its time period because it encompassed designs that spanned many cultures and was the first time furniture was mass produced.

I can't tell if this should be a post outlining the further history of anal toys, or something space-related since they're cosmic-colored dildos. So, here's a little bit of both:

I learned that, according to an NYU research article, writings as back as 1600 indicate that anal sex between couples was considered fun foreplay, since it didn't result in breaking of the hymen or pregnancy.

And for your latest space news, the only acceptable way to start is by, "Danger, Will Robinson!" (for those of you who lead normal lives, this is a famous quip from the 1960s TV show Lost in Space). Two astronauts are stuck in space aboard the ISS after the Boeing Starliner (the taxi to space) that was supposed to take them home a month ago is suffering repeated issues which includes helium leaks. So, they're hanging out, doing space science stuff, until they can fix the taxi to get back to earth. Stay tuned, you know I can't shut up about this stuff.

Anyway, I had fun getting into anal toys and made a video sliding them in and out and dare I say I'm kind of getting into it and getting better at learning how to cum from it? 💜💙✨

Happy July 4th! 🇺🇸

I know my getup is giving Dallas-Cowboys-cheerleaders-circa-1970 but for today’s lesson we’re going way back in the Time Machine to the American Revolution. We’ll make a pit stop in the 1970s real quick on our way there.

So, if you haven’t seen the show Mrs. America about the Equal Rights Amendment for women between Gloria Steinham and Phyllis Shlafly in the 1970s, it’s a fantastic look into the dynamic between traditional values for women versus those seeking more independence than the generations of women before them. Also, the them, A Fifth of Beethoven, is the catchiest disco-put-to-classic-music you’ll hear.

Okay, to end our lesson way back in time: Paul Revere is known as the man of the midnight ride. Wadsworth-Longfellow wrote an epic poem of his journey that night to alert the American colonists that “The British Are Coming!” He was also coincidentally same poet who penned the epic poem of Evangeline which is set here in the swamps of Louisiana.

Paul Revere is revered (get it???) as helping kick off our advantage in winning the American Revolution. However, he was a total maverick who created the first piece of propaganda to sway sentiment in the colonies strongly against the British.

It’s evening in early March, 1770. American colonists, annoyed with the state of things, aggravate a lone British soldier, and things quickly escalate. More British soldiers come to his aide, ready to take aim unless the Americans, engaging heatedly with ice, stones and such, stop.

We all know how the tale ends. The colonists continued, the British engage, and five Americans are recognized as the first to succumb to the beginning to the new revolution.

Immediately, Paul Revere jumps on this opportunity to influence support to get out from under the thumb of King George and carves an engraving, entitling it The Boston Mass Acre. It depicts the British as angry with angular expressions as they take on the soft-featured, gentlemanly, un equipped Americans and features the famous Bostonian Custom House in front of which it occurred as “But Cher’s House.” It spread wildly, inciting a far and wide reaction from colonists to spring into action and the event forever referred to as the British’s unprovoked engagement on American colonists.

The kicker? Archeologists are pretty sure that Paul Revere wasn’t even the one who made the engraving despite pawning it off as his own and making a name for himself with it! It’s hard to imagine how those same decisions made today would be acceptable but if the real King George was anything like the one in Bridgerton then I guess I get it!

I’m trading and hope y’all know it’s a tale told in good fun some 200-something years later. UK subs, I hope you’ll forgive this one! 😘

I’d be remiss if I didn’t cover The Magic Wand as part of my series on the history of sex toys!

Invented in the late 1960s as a massager, it quickly reached popularity in the 70s as an intimate massager that delivered high-powered, intense, consistent vibrations which was especially pushed by feminists encouraging women to use the Wand as a way to learn how to experience orgasm.

I even made a video using it by pulling back my legs and leaning it against my clit while sitting in this chair. Go check your inboxes 💛💥

A WW2 (possibly also used in Korea) fighter pilot silk scarf of the 319th Fighter Squad. Scarves were used by pilots to combat the bitter cold and wind of the atmosphere.

Pilots donned heavy leather jackets secured tightly around the necks which either caused chafing and blisters if too tight, or if loosened allowed gaps that icy wind could cause injury. A silk scarf was introduced to the uniform that would allow smooth movement for a pilot to maneuver, and a long length was used so it could as be used to wipe the condensation from their googles

This lingerie getup reminds me so much of a comic book superhero villain that I went down a rabbit hole for this lesson to read about the history of DC and Marvel comics. It's hard to boil down nearly 200-years worth of origin story for comic books as a medium, but this one lesson stuck with me:

A guy named Martin Goodman launched a then-little-known-publication called "Timely Comics" in 1939. While publishing wasn't new to Goodman, comics were a new art form, as were the idea of superheros/villains. He published "Marvel Comics #1" the same year and it became hugely popular overnight.

Needing more hands on deck, he hired his wife's 16 year old cousin as an office assistant. That office assistant, Stanley Lieber, went on to help out with editing, writing, and predominant creative leader in American comics under his writing pseudonym, Stan Lee, creating characters like Spiderman, The X-Men, The Hulk, Black Widow, etc.

Well, it's not as fun when it's not a live-streamed birthday bash, but I thought you might not say no to seeing a video of me using it when it first arrived.

As part of my series on historical sex toys, I'll talk about the history of sex positions and furniture (Kama sutra, the King of England's "seat of love" in Paris, all the way to modern sex machines) but for now just enjoy the view.

This is a modern fucking machine (that is apparently the actual technical term, not just slang) made by Hismith. It's heavy-duty and can accommodate all kinds of dildos for all kinds of play.

This was my legitimate first time ever trying something like this - watch me set it up and try out different positions, thrust lengths and speed. 💋🥵

Happy Birthday to me 🤩🤭

they became especially popular after WW2 with the rise in Tiki culture as (an Americanized and inaccurate) symbol of the allure of the South Pacific. 🗿🌺🌊

Herman Melville's Moby-Dick was written (all 600+ pages of it) way back in the 1850s and told the tale of a sailor chasing after an infamous whale for revenge. It fell flat at the time but is since regarded as a piece of classic American literature.

Moby-Dick was inspired by a real-life whale, Mocha Dick. The name comes from Mocha Island, off the coast of Chile, followed by how you'd refer to a male stranger (think "like any Tom, Dick or Harry.") and in this case, Dick was the name chosen.

It doesn't have anything to do with the part of your body that'll be hard from watching the video I made after I took off this costume, but it's a fun play on words and I figured you'd enjoy it too. 💋

I'm wearing a vintage replica costume (likely made in the 1950s) that was intended to look like what sailors wore around the time Moby Dick was published up until about 1910.

It’s summertime! Schools out (except for my summer school history lessons for you!) and in a few short day its July 4th!

Are you more a casual observer with some tequila sodas stocked in the fridge and maybe some sparklers kind of vibe, or are you and your pet bald eagle launching fireworks in your back yard tomorrow?

Okay and for the rest of you, how much are you getting a kick at our level of nationalism? A lot of you are from across the pond and I’m mildly worried The King of England is going to show up with a velvet robe and crown and scepter and tell us to KEEP IT DOWN OVER THERE WILL YOU???

The 1970s saw a big resurgence in 1920s aesthetic, and a prime example of this is the musical Chicago. Written by the legendary jazz choreographer & dancer extraordinaire Bob Fosse, it details flapper women imprisoned but having celebrity status as a result.

The show is known for its catchy jazz tunes and fringed, beaded, glittering flapper costumes which dazzled the stage becoming the pattern for what is instantly recognizable today as “flapper dress.”

While the originals of musicals are often the best version, I actually really love the 2002 film which is fantastic.

I’m wearing a 1979s handmade costume flapper dress from a now-defunct old New Orleans costume shop which was run by the son of a very famous Los Angeles costume shop that did the costumes for some of Hollywood’s most famous classic movies. 🎥 🍿 🎶

While we’re enjoying our summer of hedonistic pleasures, here’s another: if I had to present to you (in a perfectly compiled Excel database utilizing macros to crunch the data for me accompanied by a well-presented slide deck outlining my methodology for data collection) the number of questions I receive about how my nipples stay so erect I’d say I’d actually be putting my MBA to good use.

The answer is more boring than the actual data collection: they just, um, do that.

(Jokes aside, my MBA has come in handy for learning how to run a successful business on more than one occasion and certainly includes this platform 🤓)

The story starts following WW2 after GI's came home from Normandy with tales of battlefield and of mademoiselle's tongues. It travels back in time past the cabarets and courtesans of the Moulin Rouge, passing by the Court of Catherine de Medici and her wild French court's sexual antics, and (as all roads lead to Rome) back to ancient times.

💋 The tale ends with my first time simulating oral sex on a dildo. That part's in your inboxes. Cum check it out and let me know what you think! 💋

Nowadays the term "burlesque" evokes an image of an elaborate striptease stage act with any kind of theme or costume, but burlesque was traditionally a group of performers that included comedy and stage performances that were intended to be "intentionally ridiculous...and absurd" and considered theater.

Between the 1830s-1900s, burlesque troupes would travel and perform as musical comedy ultimately ending with a striptease or nudity element to it, generally by an attractive woman in the group and showing off a little leg. They were hugely popular across Europe and spread to the United States. Up until about World War 1, seeing a burlesque show was considered family-friendly.

Leading into the early 1920s, the popularity of a woman performing with a sexual element to it was (unsurprisingly) in high demand (Ziegfeld Follies, with their beautiful chorus girls in intricate costumes, became in high demand).

Shows generally evolved to have low-brow comedy by a male comedian to open the show (Abbott & Costello performed in a burlesque troupe!), followed by several sexually suggestive performances of beautiful women in intricate costumes, dancing to a live band, ending with a striptease.

Of course, they were massively popular with male audiences but, by the 1930s the combination of the Great Depression, impending war, a demand for traditional family values resulted in burlesque falling out of popularity until the rise of huge burlesque stars in the following generations.
