One of the many many many things I did to try to heal from the PTSD caused from being ra*ped at knifepoint by a homeless monster on meth was go to an amazing somatic experience therapist.
I'd never heard of that modality, and the way I found her was mystical.
I am so protected by the universe!! Even when I'm unhealthy or ra*ped or poor or feeling completely ignored, I always have faith that the next great thing is right around the corner. And because I live my life that way, that is how I experience my life.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT ALWAYS HAPPENS!!!
I went to my homeopathic drugstore for something or other and the woman who helped me was a medical intuitive. Also a specialty I'd never heard of. From spending five minutes with me, she urged me to see this somatic experience therapist.
The treatments I received had a huge impact on my progress. During one of my treatments, she used tuning forks. She kind of taught me how to use them myself and I bought a few, and I still use them from time to time.
They're great for calming down the nervous system.

I have SO MUCH FUN blending 2+ shades of LipSense together to create a unique color for myself!
I was kind of famous for the colors I would blend up.
I love dark, deep, poppin' colors like blue, green black, navy .... we have all those colors, but I'd blend them with our silver and/or gold, and other sparkly reds and pinks, and end up with something spectacular, and totally me.
Even the CEO of Senegence would wave me to come over when I showed up at an event, so she could try and guess the color combination I put together. She could never guess, by the way.
And that was FUN!!!

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. Not in Santa Monica, not in Los Angeles, and not in California.
They vote based on party affiliation, which is a sign of idiocy, and will lead to further demise.
We currently have the worst of the worst elected officials, who have driven the state straight into the shitter. I have very little faith that things will improve based on how the majority of the population here votes.
However, I am more than willing to be wrong on this, with quality candidates being voted in!!

I used to be a victim of my life and when I finally saw the light and was able to transform my 'victim' mind into a 'victorious over my life' mind, I was elated!
No matter what difficulty or tragedy I'm faced with, I refuse to be a victim of of my life's circumstances.
Thus I do whatever I need to, in order to speak up for myself --and others-- which is KEY.

I love dreams.
My take on dreams is that everything I dream about is ME, whether I'm dreaming about someone OR something.
Dreams are a way of processing and healing for me.
I'm also a lucid dreamer, which a therapist informed me of years ago, when I was recounting my dreams to him. He told me I was a "very sophisticated dreamer." {big smile}
So I had this incredibly vivid dream that I was on a trip away from the office and when I returned to the office everyone was there throwing me a welcome back party.
That kind of stuff never happened at any job that I ever had, but definitely not at the job I had most recently for 15 years .... a despicable law firm run by gross, mean people, and staffed by some nice peeps, but mostly fearful, jealous jerks. That place can be found in Webster's under "soul sucking."
So even though in my dream it was like, yeah of course everybody loves me and they're so generous and thoughtful, so it was no big deal that there were balloons and cake and everything to honor my return.
But then the most amazing part was when my boss that I had for those 15 years in real life stood up in front of everyone and said: "It's been brought to my attention that I haven't been treating you the way you deserve to be treated."
Everyone clapped loudly, including me!! It was so amazing and I'm still feeling a tad elated, because I know something has been elevated in my life for having had this dream.
However, in real life, this bastard threatened to fire me because he didn't like that I had to be out for chemo treatments. Everything was about him and I was rarely treated with respect, let alone being verbally and emotionally abused.
So glad I'm no longer there!

My sweet and beautiful friend @ittybittyprettykitty turned me onto this, which she learned from the Farmers' Almanac.
I go out on my balcony to water my plants and from time to time I get bitten - or maybe I sleep with a spider in my bed? I'm not sure what it is, but suddenly, over the last three months, I've had a number of bites. Sweet Kitty told me about this technique and it sounds weird but it works!!
I think this works for any sort of bug bites? Not sure.
Take your fingernail and make a cross with your fingernail directly over the bite. I did it and the next day it was 50% better and didn't itch at all after that, and the third day my bites were hard to see!!!!

I'd say the most profound thing that I now possess, and which did not come easy, was my unshakable happiness.
It was very difficult for me to become a person that is unshakably happy. It took decades to get here. And though I hope that my next lifetime I'm born into an unshakably happy life, finally achieving this state of life was worth all my years of misery.
Unshakably happy means I'm happy… Not ha ha ha happy, but calmly, serenely, and consistently happy despite my life's circumstances. And my circumstances would make many people unhappy.
And being unshakably happy doesn't mean I don't get pissed off. Y'all know that's not how I am if you're reading my posts.... LOL. As long as you're alive you're always going to have difficult circumstances. But I know how to rise above them, overcome them, and have faith that I will be able to be victorious over them.
That's how my life is, which is fantastically powerful.
And I wish the same for you!!
Being happy despite all the crap and disappointments is worth the price of gold.

***H E A L T H U P D A T E***
I hope everyone's having a great start to the new month!
Yesterday I went to my primary care physician after an entire year.
I have this dry, incessant cough that I chalk up to my slight asthma and allergies. But over the last few weeks it got worse, and my chest hurt, and I finally worried enough to go see her.
I was able to walk across the street to the x-ray facility and have my chest x-rayed (and I also had my knee xrayed since my 12 year old torn meniscus has been quite painful - painful enough to make me stop using my elliptical, which my doc was alarmed about), and I just received both of my x-ray results, and it's not good news, per the attached photo.
I NEVER SMOKED.
My knee is filled with arthritis ... and the x-ray comparison from a few years ago hasn't changed that much.
I have a call in to my doctor to find out what the next steps are.

Never forget that the way people treat you is based on how they feel about THEMSELVES. So when people are shitty, don't take it personally but also don't continue to be a doormat for them.
I know it can be difficult because I was a doormat for my bosses for most of my career. I put a stop to it when I finally woke up to the fact that I could speak up for myself and not get fired. Sometimes I just had to shut down assholes when they were mean, without fearing losing my job.
Of course family is another thing.
People think they need to put up with all kinds of bullshit because these jerks are related to us. I put a stop to that a long time ago when my mom's two sisters were so out of line and so verbally and emotionally abusive (just as my mom was) that I sent them a Dear John letter, cutting them out of my life, and I've never ever regretted it.
Please just do what you can to protect yourself because you will be so much better off without incessant negativity in your life.
Regardless, I always did my best to be supportive to the people in my life.
