Just like the human flu, canine influenza is caused by infection with a specific type of influenza virus. There are also different strains of the virus similar to the human variations! And be ware, they are highly contagious from dog to dog! So be careful at the dog parks, day cares and other places a lot of dogs socialize at ;)
