Our pups rely on us to keep them safe, but did you know that many everyday household items can pose serious health risks to our pets?
Creating a toxin-free environment is essential for their long-term health and well-being. Here is a list of hidden toxins to keep out of our pets’ surroundings so let's all take proactive steps to ensure their safety!
Household Cleaners: Many conventional cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that have chemicals like bleach, ammonia, and formaldehyde, which can cause respiratory distress, skin irritation, and even organ damage if ingested or inhaled. Human Foods: Chocolate, grapes, onions, and xylitol (a common sweetener found in peanut butter, sugar-free gum, and baked goods) are highly toxic to pets. Lawn and Garden Products: Pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers often contain chemicals that are harmful to pets if they walk on treated grass or ingest plant material. *This is why I clean Mila's paws 5 or more times per day with dog shampoo! Medications & Supplements: Even small doses of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or certain essential oils can be dangerous to pets. Houseplants: Popular plants like lilies, pothos, and aloe vera can be toxic if nibbled on by a curious cat or dog.

Did you know that in 2022, there was a Pet Obesity Prevalence Survey that showed an increase in overweight dogs, with 59% of dogs classified as overweight or have obesity.
And a lot of this is because we don't consider the calories we give our dogs from treats, veggies, fruits, dog chews, bones, etc. so we end up overfeeding.
I always share here how important it is for us to have pet insurance. And I have many friends who wished they had it! This is how Pet Insurance saved us $7,600 in 10 Months! Do you have Pet Insurance for your dog?
So Mila is back on her gut restore pill and I know for many of us it's hard to give our pets medications or supplements. Here's a simple trick I use to give Mila her pills that you can try with your pet.

Did you know that according to the 2013 National Pet Obesity Awareness Day Survey conducted by the Association of Pet Obesity Prevention, 52.5 percent of dogs are overweight or obese!
Yikes that is HIGH! Obesity in dogs is caused by one or more of the following: free feeding (leaving food out all day), over feeding, and lack of exercise/playtime.
We often make New Year's resolutions for ourselves, but how about making one for your dog too?
