What can you do for a sore throat? Prevention with a healthy active lifestyle is best...but sometimes the immune system gets run down and then what? I tried two different things this morning for a very sore scratchy throat...
1) Hot & cold throat compress, 3 minutes hot then 30 seconds ice cold repeated 3 times. Big improvement in the soreness by the time I finished!
2) Onion poultice: I chopped up an onion fine and placed in a damp cloth, put some oil (most any kind of cooking or beauty oil would work, I used castor) on my upper chest to help keep the onion from irritating the skin and then layered the onion with a tea towel on top to help hold warmth. It has to stay in place at least 10 minutes, and up to 8 hours. We'll see what happens 😉

Cajun Mac 'n Cheese from scratch...smoked Cheddar, fresh grated Parmesan, Gouda melted into a bechamel sauce, butter fried Andoui sausage and Cajun shrimp... I'm not a seafood fan but this was fantastic!

I don't think I've messed with spreadsheets since highschool computer class .... that's like over a couple decades ago 😬 so this afternoon's project of putting all my sheep and sheep info into a spreadsheet was a bit of a challenge... But it's done and printed! Yayyyy!!!! I put a lot of thought and research into my livestock. We raise our own fresh sprouted grain fodder to supplement hay during the winter, I special order and custom mix kelp and trace minerals which are put out daily, we have protocols in place for parasite and disease prevention... optimal nutrition for the best quality fleeces, meat, and healthy lambs in spring. That's the goal!

I got to try so many yummy things at work tonight! Do you like Blue Cheese? I don't particularly, but this Blue Cheese Bacon Spinach soup was SO GOOD...a rich mushroom flavor that had me going back for a third cupful, plus pear kucken, fresh apple pie, Red pesto bacon and veggie pizza (not pictured) and sadly, I forgot to try the Roasted Tomato with fresh basil soup that was bubbling away when my shift ended... maybe I'll get to try some tomorrow evening 😋

I ate at Wahlburgers for the first time, pretty good!!! And fresh flowers compliments of Hy Vee I suppose. I loved the fried jalapenos on the Wahlapeno...and pepper jelly. Sweet potato tots were yummy 😋 We also had some amazing lamb chislic nachos at Urban Chislic over the weekend but as usual I forgot pictures 😔 Both places had better quality tastier food than some of the higher end places we've eaten at.

Try to find an all you can eat, made from scratch meal like that for $20!

Exhausted! Worked the sheep this morning, normal housework with little ones, fleshed another small sheepskin for tanning, then got called in to work early... thankfully it was a slow afternoon & evening but there were plenty of dishes to wash. I made about 10 pizzas from scratch, cut veggies, and assembled these quiches.

Today was a really long day...so this was my main meal tonight 😅😋 and possibly the only pic I took today.
Milking goats, drenching sheep for parasite control, skinning and salting a small hide, business calls, errands, paying bills and appointments including getting a tire replaced, and some grocery shopping. I snacked on homemade apple rhubarb bars and hydrated with kombucha.
Made these egg/mushroom tacos to finish off the day. I'm loving marinated sundried tomatoes!!!
And check out that pumpkin! Definitely got some gourd going on! 😍
