We've had a lot of events at work lately but I'm on evening shift and I've been missing all the awesome happenings and food spreads and ending up with dishes and pizza behind the scenes. ð I did make a delicious margarita pizza last night with fresh garden cherry tomatoes...and caught a blurred picture of the top cake layer of a wedding cake from 50 years ago... it's almost creepy ðŽ

Monday wasn't boring...
Quick 4 hour trip to the city and back. Worked on fence, moved some cattle, tended gardens, harvested some fresh parsley and rhubarb, set appointments, bought more sheep, besides regular farm chores like milking, feeding, mixing supplements, cleaning out water troughs...
And I managed to do some housework too ð
What do I do for fun? This weekend I used a bunch of scrap wood and wire to fix up an old building for my peafowl, and Beau helped me wax dip some raw goat cheddar cheese. He says it tastes like goat, but I absolutely adore it... And since there's no way that I'm going to eat 5 lb by myself before it spoils, we decided to try this method to see if we could preserve it in smaller portions. Ideally, it should last months or years in a cool dark place, it will just get sharper. We also vacuum sealed it in plastic just to be safe. ð

Of course, there's a part I need to attach these blades so had to call customer service and it's on its way from Cali ðĪĶ. So I put the stringer head back on, got decked out in leggings and rubber boots, no shorts and sandals this time, and tried getting some weeds wacked down. Gave up on that pretty quick, the wild amaranth, also called pigweed, is so tough the trimmer wasn't making much progress. I switched over to a different area and used the push mower for a bit. Cold showers never felt so good as on a hot day after mowing! Finished up with a facial mask and some creamy Glow lotion. Much better! Been keeping a secret the last six months... Now you see it, now you don't! ð

Look!!! 4 days later there's two more killdeer eggs! The fencing we set up temporarily is working at keeping the nest safe from livestock and humans trampling and the birds have accepted the intervention. ð
